Almurad, Spain

Almurad is a leading agricultural cooperative with deep roots in the winemaking tradition of La Puebla de Almoradiel, Spain. Originally founded as the Cooperativa Vinícola Santo Cristo de la Salud in 1968, the organization has built a legacy spanning over five decades. Situated in the heart of the La Mancha region—the historical land of Don Quixote—the cooperative has been dedicated from its inception to the production of quality wines and musts.
Today, Almurad's partners cultivate vines across vast landholdings, growing established Spanish varieties such as Airén, Verdejo, Cencibel (Tempranillo), and Garnacha, alongside Syrah. The facility, which commercially adopted the name "Almurad" in 2008, expertly blends traditional techniques with modern enological equipment to process around 10 million kilograms of grapes annually, yielding celebrated bulk and bottled products.
In a bold step toward modernization, Almurad has integrated a new photovoltaic system into its production processes. This installation, boasting a peak power capacity of 110 kWp, is a critical strategic move to secure the energy supply needed for its cellaring, fermentation, and bottling operations.
